About Catherine

Catherine Campbell joined Burgess Mee as a paralegal in January 2018 before becoming the firm’s first trainee in September 2019. After achieving a Distinction on the Legal Practice Course at BPP, she qualified as a solicitor in March 2021.

In her time at Burgess Mee, Catherine has developed a confident practice in both matrimonial finance and child arrangements, bringing her combination of attention to detail and pragmatism to both. Her finance experience includes high net worth cases with complicated tax and non-disclosure issues, as well as cases with more modest assets.

In addition to her experience of private child arrangements generally, Catherine has dealt with private children law cases involving allegations of domestic abuse with police and local authority involvement. She has also assisted on both domestic and international child relocation cases.

Within the firm’s growing modern families practice, Catherine has worked on applications for parental orders following surrogacy.

Prior to joining the firm, Catherine obtained a BA in History and Politics with First Class Honours at the University of Leicester before completing the LLB at UCL, where she achieved the highest mark in her cohort for Family Law. An avid debater from secondary school through to university, Catherine initially intended to pursue a career as a barrister and was called to the Bar at Middle Temple in July 2017. Now a solicitor, she has been able to incorporate advocacy into her practice.

Catherine is a member of Resolution, an organisation for family lawyers which promotes a constructive and non-confrontational approach to family law cases. As part of her commitment to promoting access to justice, she regularly volunteers with the Peckham Citizens’ Advice, advising clients on family law interests.

A born and raised Bermudian, Catherine loves travelling to the sea whenever possible and exploring the natural world. She enjoys drawing and is rarely without a sketchbook.
